Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Medicine Supervisor to oversee the management, storage, and distribution of medicines in a healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, compliance with health regulations, and the ability to supervise a team to ensure that medicine handling processes meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medicine Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of medicines in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Inventory Control: Ensure accurate inventory management, including tracking medicine stocks, expiry dates, and orders.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all medicine handling practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of medicine storage areas to maintain quality standards and ensure medicines are stored appropriately.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise pharmacy staff and coordinate their tasks to ensure timely and efficient medicine distribution.
  • Patient Safety: Monitor and ensure the safe dispensing and administration of medications to patients.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain records, including medicine usage reports, inventory audits, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to new staff members on medicine handling and safety procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the correct medication is administered to patients.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
    • Knowledge of medical inventory software and management systems.
    • Certification in pharmacology or a related field.
    • Understanding of health insurance regulations and claims processes related to medications.
